Capability Building

As part of our commitment to creating community value, our policies mandate that we maintain a preference for local, land-connected and First Nations suppliers where all else is equal. This builds the sustainability, capability and capacity of our communities, trusting relationships, and will leave a positive legacy by contributing to the achievement of local aspirations.

The two related United Nations Sustainable Development Goals:   

• Goal 4 – Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.  
• Goal 8 – Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all. 

We work towards our goals to build capability, alongside our Educating the Next Generation social contribution program and other sponsorship opportunities. 

Each of our Assets has developed their own programs of work, developed in partnership with community and government stakeholders, to ensure that the programs are relevant to their context.
