Performance standards

Through listening, collaborating and partnering, we can create transparent and robust ways of working, which helps build trust and inform our choices. Local Community know-how and ideas help us define together what creates shared value.

We have developed Global Performance Standards , a set of minimum expectations for how we should go about our work and manage our risks to make sure our people can make responsible, value-creating decisions. The Performance Standards are an interrelated set of standards that apply to our workforce, including employees, directors, officers, contractors, consultants, and anyone working on behalf of OZ Minerals. Our host Communities can hold us to account and guide us in understanding how we are meeting their expectations.

Environment Performance

We are committed to providing a high standard of care for the natural environment.  

We ensure our environmental footprint is minimised by developing pathways to reach our aspirations for  zero emissions, zero waste, and to minimised water consumption.

As a company with operations in several countries and locations, we operate and explore in a wide variety of natural environments.  

 

The Environment Performance Standards do this in two ways:

1. They describe the minimum requirements of Assets  to manage environmental threats and impacts associated with specific activities or tasks, and
2. They help to identify opportunities that could create value for us and our communities and other stakeholders.

Social Performance 

We believe in the spirit of togetherness – people working with people, frankly and openly, to achieve amazing things. 

We build lasting relationships with the communities and neighbours who host our operations, based on value creation and robust processes.

The environment we create for our workforce is flexible and collaborative, and we always work with local people and suppliers where possible.  Building an inclusive culture that celebrates diversity is key for How We Work Together. 

Every community we work in is different, so our Social Performance Standards are designed to ensure high standards of community engagement while allowing our people to use their judgment and local insights to make lives better. 

The Social Performance Standards do this in two ways:

1. They describe the minimum requirements of Assets  to manage threats associated with specific activities or tasks, and
2. They help identify opportunities that could drive value creation for both OZ Minerals and the communities in which we operate and wish to be welcome.
