We recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the first people of Australia and the importance to all of us for their voice to be heard. We support efforts being made to achieve this next step in National Recognition.

From our perspective, in the things we can practically do to support the principles of Voice, Treaty and Truth, we undertake to continue to work with our traditional owner partners in the spirit of shared value and mutual obligation to create sustainable benefits by leveraging, developing and building on our shared aspirations, whilst protecting and respecting country and culture.

Our commitment is enshrined in the partnering agreements

  • Kokatha Aboriginal Corporation and Carrapateena Mine – Nganampa palyanku kanyintjaku ‘Keeping the future good for all of us’
  • Antakirinja Matu-Yankunytjatjara Aboriginal Corporation (AMYAC) and Prominent Hill Mine – Tjunguringanyi – tjaku “Coming together”

OZ Minerals has consulted extensively with our traditional owners on how we can work together. In recognition that each community is unique the partnering agreements with our traditional owners inform how we work together and supersede the requirement for a company or asset-based Reconciliation Action Plans (RAP).

At the 2020 Premier's Awards we were awarded the Community category for the process of developing Tjunguringanyi ‘Working Together’ between Antakirinja Matu-Yankunytjatjara Aboriginal Corporation and OZ Minerals. Click here to view our acceptance video.
